Online video is impossible to pin down.
One year’s VidCon attendee is the next year’s superstar. Entire genres are created in the time it takes a full season of TV to meander its way to conclusion. Creating an event for something so wildly diverse and rapidly evolving is an impossible task, but we attempt it anyway. And we do it with excitement, because we believe that online video is the most important cultural force since the motion picture. We are in the very early, defining moments of an extremely powerful global force. VidCon is and strives to continue to be the physical center of that revolution.
In 2016, over 26,400 fans, creators, and industry leaders got together to celebrate the power of online video. 2017 will be even bigger and better — check out what’ll be new for 2017 below, and get your Community, Creator, or Industry tickets before they sell out!
What’s new for 2017?
More Content, more Creators, more VidCons
Basically, more of everything! We want to make sure we’re able to feature as many creators and talents and ideas as possible, so we’re inviting even more featured creators from all over the online video community and adding three new stages at the Anaheim Convention Center, open to all three ticket types. We’ll have panels, Q&As, and activities going on constantly, so you’ll be able to revel in this magical world of online video. For the first time, we’re expanding internationally with VidCon Europe in Amsterdam and VidCon Australia in Melbourne. And we’ve added more experts to our staff to make sure these will be the best VidCons the world has ever seen.
Industry Seminars, Innovation Showcase, and Research Deep-Dive!
The VidCon 2017 Industry Track brings back our popular seminar series, and this time we’re extending it across both Friday and Saturday. In addition, we’re expanding the “Innovation Showcase,” where the top production studios and creative companies get an opportunity to share their latest projects and talk about what’s in store for the balance of 2017 and 2018. Finally, we’re inviting some of the most forward thinking research organizations to present the eye-opening results of their latest research studies. Topics include the latest findings on fandom, how GenZ really consumes media, buying behavior for OTT and new MVPD services and much more!
