LOS ANGELES, CA – Sept. 11, 2018 – VidCon, the world’s largest celebration of online video and digital creators, today announced the tenth annual VidCon US will be held July 10-13, 2019 at the Anaheim Convention Center in Anaheim, CA. Community, Creator, and Industry Badges will go on sale later this Fall.
Details on new programming, expanded activations, events, parties and Featured Creators confirmed to attend will be announced soon. This VidCon U.S. announcement comes on the heels of the second annual VidCon Australia, which took place August 31 – September 2, 2018. VidCon AU played host to likes of Liza Koshy, TheOdd1sOut, Caspar Lee and Hannah Hart and MTV Australia announced and debuted Total Request Live – the first international version of the MTV format since the revival of the show launched on MTV in US in 2017.
“Over the last ten years, VidCon has become the only place where the industry, brands, the world’s top digital creators and their fans come together to celebrate and change the future of online video,” said Jim Louderback, VidCon General Manager. “As we expand across Europe with VidCon London in February 2019, Australia and beyond, our team is busy building a tenth anniversary celebration in the U.S. that will be the biggest and best VidCon ever.”
VidCon US 2019 will follow the first ever VidCon London, confirmed to take place at ExCeL London from February 14 – February 17th, 2019.
“This ecosystem has grown and widened in a way we didn’t know was possible a decade ago and we’re looking at some really wonderful ways to highlight all the innovations and connections this industry has given us,” said Julia Maes, Executive Producer of VidCon US. “It will be a special blend of veteran and new rising talent from all the major platforms, throwback activations (the internet loves a “remember when”), and all the future-focused programming and conversations VidCon is known for.”
The ninth annual VidCon US in June 2018 welcomed more than 74,000 fans, creators, brands and industry leaders. In addition to featuring the world’s biggest digital creators, VidCon US hosted keynotes, fireside chats and panels with c-level and senior executives from every major online video, social and networking platform including YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, Twitter, Twitch, Snap, Bytedance and more.
Now set for July, the tenth annual VidCon US will host even more of the advertising and brand industries’ top executives and marketers to witness the future of online video, avoiding overlap with scheduled dates for Cannes Lions in June 2019.
