So, your child has requested to attend VidCon …

Not to worry! Here are some resources to help ensure that you and your child have the best experience possible at VidCon.

Attending VidCon as a Parent

Chaperone Info

If your child is under the age of 13 they must be accompanied by a parent or chaperone at all times. We require parents or chaperones to purchase the same badge type as the child they are accompanying.

If your child is age 13 or over, you are not required to accompany them at all times. If you’re okay with them being on their own at VidCon, but would like to accompany them to the event, you do not need to purchase a VidCon ticket to access the Parents’ Lounge, located in the Registration Hall. If you do wish to accompany your child to other VidCon spaces, you will need to purchase a ticket.

Parents' Lounge

The Parents’ Lounge, located near registration, is a great, quiet place for you to plop down and relax while your child enjoys VidCon! You do not need a ticket to have access to the Parents’ lounge. If your child is old enough to be at VidCon on their own (13+), but you’d like to stay nearby, you are welcome to make yourself at home in this space. Feel free to put your feet up, have a drink, meet other parents while your child explores everything that VidCon has to offer.

Onsite Activities

What is there for you to do at VidCon?
If you bought a ticket to VidCon, we would encourage you to check out the event! You might be surprised by what VidCon has to offer. We’ve had a number of parents email us after the event to let us know how much fun they had at VidCon with their child. It’s a great way to get to know what your child loves and maybe find some joy in it yourself! There’s also a sweet Parents’ Lounge in the Registration Area if you need to take some time away from the hustle and bustle.

What is there for your child to do at VidCon?
There are a bunch of things for your child to do while at VidCon! There are panels, Q&As, concerts, Meet & Greets, Movie Nights, an entire outdoor festival area with stages and food trucks, and so much more. Our Expo Halls also have tons of activities, games, and prizes for your child and their friends to explore.

Meet & Greets

Quick Rundown

Meet & Greets are an awesome opportunity for Community or Industry Track attendees to meet some of their favorite creators. All of our sessions are determined via a random Meet & Greet lottery prior to VidCon. When the lottery opens, we will email all registered attendees to let them know and they will have the opportunity to rank their top 15 creators in order of preference. About a week after the lottery closes we will email attendees to let them know their results are available.

Meet & Greet Hall

Onsite, attendees will have the opportunity to meet the creators they received during the lottery. All Meet & Greets take place in the Meet & Greet Hall. If your child is under the age of 18 and you would like to accompany them into the Meet & Greet Hall, you are more than welcome to do so. You may either wait in the waiting area at the back of the hall, or in line with them. Please note, if you do not have a Meet & Greet for that creator, you will not be able to participate in the Meet & Greet proper and will be asked to step to the side when you reach the front of the line to observe as your child meets the creator. You will need to purchase a VidCon ticket to accompany your child to the Meet & Greet Hall.

Transfer of Meet & Greets

In the past, many parents who purchased Community or Industry Track tickets to accompany their children to VidCon have chosen to participate in the Meet & Greet Lottery either to meet creators themselves or to make their Meet & Greet results available to their children. At registration, a lot of parents have asked to “gift” their meet & greet wristbands to their children, which we have allowed as a courtesy. As opposed to previous years where attendees wore separate wristbands for each Meet & Greet (making transfer possible), this year, all Meet & Greet information will be stored within an RFID wristband which, along with your badge, serves as both your admission to VidCon and your admission to your each of your Meet & Greets. This new system means that transfer of results is no longer possible. Thank you for understanding.
